Scalable Nanocellulose Refinery

We start with abundant resources

Our refinery starts by extracting cellulose from abudant and underutilized agricultural feedstocks ranging from macro algae like sugar kelp to farmed grasses like miscanthus. We work with our partners to quantify metrics like fertilizer, water use, and embodied carbon.

We then apply a novel chemical treatment

We then apply in-house developed non-toxic solvent treatments to the resulting cellulose pulp that significantly lowers the energy required for fibrillation while simultaneously imparting tunable, plug-and-play functionality.

Resulting in tunable nanocellulose

From our process, we end with functionalized nanocellulose fibers that are tuned for your desired application. Our novel treatment enables us to our nanocellulose in a wide-range of chemical functionalities, fiber morphologies, and scale to perfectly fit your production needs.
